The Anodizing Process
Anodizing is a treatment often used to protect and/or cosmetically color aluminum. Anodizing Aluminum increases its corrosion resistance, increases its surface hardness, gives it color (if dyeing), and gives it better adhesion if applying a paint top coat.

Finishing Technology recently completed the installation of a new precision hardcoat anodizing system for aluminum. The heart of this state-of-the-art system features a unique, modular design that combines both macro and micro filtration of the anodizing bath with bath circulation, precision cooling controls and a chiller. This system is guaranteed to maintain the anodizing bath temperature within ± 2°F of the control set point while at full rectifier heat loading.
Designed and built by Anodizing Technologies, Inc. as a pre-piped unit, the system is mounted in a chemical resistant spill containment basin on a stainless steel frame.
This new precision hardcoating system enables Finishing Technology to produce MIL SPEC, hard anodic finishes to our customers’ exact requirements. Since installation was completed in November 2010, Finishing Technology has successfully completed several anodizing assignments for customers across the Midwest.
With a heritage of creativity, collaboration and responsiveness, Finishing Technology is committed to deliver multiple approaches, problem-solving intuition and cost-effective solutions to meet all your mass finishing needs. This new precision hardcoat anodizing system is the latest example of our continuing expansion to meet these requirements.
